Musical Director For Gorey Choral Group
Eithne Corrigan

Eithne Corrigan is the Musical Director of Gorey Choral Group. Along with Gorey Choral Group she is also the Musical Director of the Wexford Festival Singers and another County Wexford choir called “The Silvertones”.
Eithne first worked with Gorey Choral Group as guest accompanist for competitions and concerts and as Acting Musical Director for a period. She accepted the position as Musical Director of Gorey Choral Group in 2009.
She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin. She studied piano and violin at the Royal Irish Academy of Music with Professor Rhona Marshall and Professor Sean Lynch.
Eithne was also awarded a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Academy of Music, London and was a prizewinner in the accompanist section when representing Ireland at the European Violin Competition in Vienna.
She has performed with both the National Symphony and National Concert Orchestras of Ireland. In 2001 and 2007 Eithne worked as repetiteur with Wexford Festival Opera on their production of Dvorák’s Jakobin and Kurt Weill’s Die Silbersee. She has also worked with Dublin Grand Opera Society and Dublin Masterclasses.
In December 2007, Eithne directed Wexford Festival Singers and Gorey Choral Group for a highly acclaimed concert which included Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols and Haydn’s Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo in which she participated as organ soloist.
In 2008 she directed Wexford Festival Singers and Gorey Choral Group for “Harbouring”, a piece commissioned by Wexford County Council and composed by Ian Wilson. This endeavor involved The Wexford Festival Singers, Gorey Choral Group, Enniscorthy Choral Society, the traditional group “Whist!”, Dermot Dunne and The Irish Chamber Orchestra. It was conducted by Fergus Sheil.
